Music missionary and excellent crooner -John Angotti- recently performed for the Parish Religious Education Program [PREP] students of Holy Family Parish in Southwest Orlando.

The Catholic musician and singer also gave a talk on the meaning of being a Catholic Christian, which in his case is deeply rooted in Scriptures and in the example that his dad provided while growing up.

In fact, he shared a story about his despair at the time of his father's death, from whom he had wished for a sign to know that he was in Heaven.

His searching for the sign came to an end as he realized that all the friends and neighbors came to his home bringing meals to share with him and his family.  As they all were around the table sharing the meal -particularly at the breaking of the bread- he realized in this simple gesture among loving friends, that this was his sign.

His songs offer a variety of beats and rhythms, including Latin and Jazz, along with Pop Rock. Though his style has been compared to Billy Joel's and Elton John's, the lyrics of his songs are deeply spiritual and meditative.

Among the many songs performed, a favorite of the crowd was definitely I Can Only Imagine.

Angotti alternated between songs and talks, provoking the students to consider different spiritual topics.

He asked the crowd to consider how do they know someone.  What makes them say that they truly know someone? How do they know that they truly know Jesus?

The students and parents, as well as the PREP teachers and some parishioners present, walked away with joy in their hearts and personally thanking John Angotti for sharing his wisdom and his talent.

Participating in a Holy Family Parish tradition of signing the How Blest are the Feet of Those Who Carry the Good News banner, Angotti autographed the sign.
