The Glasgow Gallery of Modern Art had an innovative idea. It was decided that a Bible would be put on display as an exhibit. It was left open for people to write down their personal thoughts or expressions. Great idea!
People often will write notes in the margins of their Bibles to recall a special insight gained while reading it.
Apparently, Bibles no longer render the reverence deserved because unfortunately, in this instance, the exhibit was vandalized. Some wrote their spiritual insights, which was the point of the exhibit. But others disrespectfully desecrated the Bible by writing terrible statements upon it.
“This is all sexist pish, so disregard it all," wrote one person, while another described the Bible as "the biggest lie in human history" and a third wrote: "Mick Jagger and David Bowie belong in here.
On the first page of Genesis, the first book of the Bible, someone had written: "I am Bi, Female and Proud. I want no god who is disappointed in this."
According to the News@Nine, over a hundred people gathered in front of the gallery to protest.
“Letitia Reid, a housewife from Glasgow, said the Bible should not be desecrated.
"As a Christian I am offended by this because Christians hold the Bible to be sacred. For it to be publicly defiled in this way is very offensive," she said.As well as a glass case, the gallery now has paper and pens, with which they can write down their thoughts, to be inserted into the Bible later by members of staff.”
It seems that we live in an age where right is wrong and wrong is right. The decline of reverence and godliness seems to be accelerating. It is a shame that the Holy Scriptures would be treated so. There are plenty of venues for people to write their negative feelings about the Bible. Destroying and vandalizing a Bible is not the way to do it.
Paul’s second letter to Timothy says:
1But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, (II Tim 3:1-3)
There seems to be no reverence towards anything anymore. People don't respect others or even themselves. Do you think we are in the last days? Have you seen a decline such as described in the scripture above?

Wasn't Amy kicked out of the Christian fellowship after she had an affair with her minister? This isn't spam - look it up. Why is she being featured here?
Ha! One more for the Bowie news alerts! Put him in there, he deserves it!
