In the history of SW FL roller derby, there's never been a bout as anticipated as the face-off between the Bradentucky Bombers' Nuclear Bombshells and the Sarasota Roller Girls.  Sarasota's founder, Redneck Ophelia, splintered off from Bradentucky about a year ago, and left some bad blood on the track.  Now for the numbers: Bradentucky's four years of experience on their wheels, versus Sarasota's three bouts.  Sarasota showed amazing resourcefulness in the first half, managing to keep the scores close.  There is no defense against years of training though, which allowed the Bombshells to pull away to the tune of (183-126).

In the beginning though, it was anybody's game.  Sarasota staked out an early lead through Aireal Assualt, only to watch Bombshell Crash Test Barbie steal it right back (14-8).  Assault would soon recapture the lead, with a huge 20 point jam, relying on the help of her friends: Lady Bomb, Cuteney CutThroat, and Danger Girl.  Who locked up Bombshell jammer Got Milf? in the pack as they opened hole after hole for Assault (21-28).

After which the Nuclear Bombshells would come roaring back.  The offense was evenly split between big jams by Esther Gin n Juice and Crash Test Barbie.  Skating eight to ten point jams at a go, the Bombshells quickly surpassed Sarasota's lead (59-42).  Bradentucky's defense picked up just as fast; with Aireal Nightmare serving as the lynchpin to a squad anchored by Dita Von Cheats and Alley Capone (88-46).

Collecting themselves at the half, Sarasota closed up their pack; stalling Crash Test Barbie so Wreckin Havoc could skate free.  Followed by an Aireal Assault jam that, combined with Havoc's, took a large slice out of Bradentucky's lead (126-71).  This resurgence wouldn't last, though, as the tiring Roller Girls soon fell victim to Bradentucky's conditioning and experience.  MVP blocker Areal Nightmare never let up her pressure, which, alongside Rebel Hell-Yeah, Malice in Rollerland, and P.B. Arlene, cemented the Nuclear Bombshells' win (183-126).

MVPs were awarded to the already mentioned Areal Nightmare and Lady Bomb for their tireless blocking.  While Esther Gin n Juice and Aireal Assault took home the jamming honors.  The overall MVP was given to Skitzo Skater, and Rebel Hell-Yeah was recognized with Coach's Choice for her exemplary attendance.
