Dallas, Rumblers, Shifters win Saturday bouts

An offensive explosion in the second half enabled the Dallas Derby Devils' Hell Razors to come from behind and defeat the Minnesota Rollergirls 113-73 Saturday night in North Richland Hills, Texas. In the DDD league bouts, the Death Row Rumblers defeated the Suicide Shifters 73-58, and the High Seas Hotties beat the Wrecking Crew 82-20.

In a defensive first half, the Minnesota Rollergirls started by shutting the home team out for the first five jams. But the team from the Twin Cities only put up eight points, including a five-point jam by Scarmen Hellectra. 

The Hell Razors narrowed the lead to 11-10 in the eighth jam after Anita Riot scored a 4-0 jam. Minnesota countered back with an 8-0 jam by Psycho Novia, a 5-0 score by Killamon Jaro, and a 4-0 jam by Venus Thightrap. This run gave the visitors a 28-10 lead after twelve jams.

Dallas chipped away at the lead, but Killamon Jaro scored a 5-0 margin in the 15th jam to give the Minnesota Rollergirls a 33-16 lead. Suzie Smashbox scored a 4-0 jam to give the visitors a 37-16 lead. Roxie La Roo closed out the half for Dallas with a 5-0 scoring jam narrowing the Minnesota lead to 38-21.

Even though Minnesota looked in control, DDD's offense exploded in the first jam of the second half and wouldn’t let up until midway through the half. Miley Virus scored a 9-0 jam followed by a 6-0 jam by Strawberry Deathcake. The visitors’ lead was narrowed to 38-36. Dallas took the lead on a 10-0 jam by Miley Virus that was followed up by an eight point jam by Strawberry Deathcake, a 15 point jam by Roxie La Roo, an eight point jam by Brandi Danger, and a 4 point jam by Hot 4 Teacher. The Derby Devils’ speediest jammers had moved from a 17 point deficit to an 81-40 lead in less than 15 minutes. 

The team from the Twin Cities worked to narrow the lead back down as Psycho Novia scored an 8-0 jam that made the score 81-52 after the tenth jam. A 10-3 jam by Roxie La Roo moved the lead back out to 98-59 for the Hell Razors in the 14th jam. Venus Thightrap scored the biggest jam of the night for Minnesota with a 14-0 margin in the 15th jam to narrow the margin to 98-73 for Dallas. Brandi Danger closed the scoring for both teams with a crowd satisfying 15-0 jam to give the Dallas Derby Devils it’s final winning margin of 113-73. Dallas outscored Minnesota 92-35 in the second half.

The leading scorers for the Dallas Derby Devils were Roxie La Roo with 38 points, Brandi Danger with 23 points, Miley Virus with 19 points, and Strawberry Deathcake with 18 points. All individual scoring is unofficial. Top blockers for the Hell Razors included The Shocker, Harassiz Mine, Lickity Split Tail, and Mona Brus’R.

The top scorers for Minnesota included Psycho Novia with 21 points, Venus Thightrap with 19 points, Killamon Jaro with 15 points and Suzzie Smashbox with 13 points. Leading blockers for the visiting team were Diamond Rough, Tiki Torture, and Tara Skatesov.

In a league bout, the Death Row Rumblers scored early in their first three jams, highlighted by a seven-point jam by Heike DeSkirt to take a 15-0 lead over the Suicide Shifters. Olive Illegal narrowed the lead in the fourth jam to 15-9 with a nine points scored. A five point jam by the Shifters’ Jamie Lee Hurt Us narrowed the Rumblers’ lead to 18-17. An eight-point jam by Postal Penny highlighted a 22-3 run at the end of the first half to give the Death Row Rumblers a 40-20 lead at halftime.

The Suicide Shifters began a rally highlighted by a 15-4 score by Sweet Baby Jane in the fifth jam of the second half. With the score narrowed to 51-45, the Rumblers countered with a 9-4 jam by Postal Penny. A 7-1 score by Heike DeSkirt in the eighth jam gave the Rumblers a 72-50 lead. The Shifters outscored a defensive minded Death Row Rumblers squad in the last four jams, but an 8-1 margin was just not enough to rally for a win. At the final whistle of the bout, the Death Row Rumblers took a 73-58 victory.

The leading scorers for the Death Row Rumblers were Heike DeSkirt with 29 points, Postal Penny with 28 points, and Rumble Kitty with 9 points. Top blockers for Rumblers were Annie Wrecksion, Jackie Lation, and Nikki Please.

The top scorers for the Suicide Shifters were Olive Illegal and Sweet Baby Jane with 15 points each, and Jamie Lee Hurtus with 13 points. Leading blockers for the team in green included V-Twin Vixen, Amazon Assassin, and Alley Sweet Tips.

The third bout of the evening featured two undefeated teams. Both the Wrecking Crew and the High Seas Hotties did not scratch the scoreboard in the first jam. But the Hotties Hot 4 Teacher took a 4-0 score in the second jam, and Strawberry Deathcake followed it up with a big 18-0 score in the third jam to give the Hotties a 22-0 lead.

Dolla Billen got the first large jam for the Wrecking Crew with an 8-2 score in the fifth jam. Both teams played tough defense until Hot 4 Teacher struck for a 10-0 score in the 12th jam of the half. Strawberry Deathcake finished off the half scoring points and giving the High Seas Hotties a 42-10 lead at halftime.

The High Seas Hotties continued scoring some big jams with Hot 4 Teacher scoring eight points in the third jam, Ultra Violence scoring a 10-0 margin in the fifth jam and Strawberry Deathcake adding a 5-0 score in the eighth jam. Anita Riot scored a 5-0 jam for the Wrecking Crew, but Mona Brus’R closed out the bout for the Hotties with a 7-0 score to finalize the team in red and black’s victory with an 82-20 score.

The top scorers for the undefeated Hotties included Strawberry Deathcake with 30 points, Hot 4 Teacher with 24 points, and Ultra Violence with 10 points. Leading blockers were Rink Panther, Mona Brus’R and Juicy J.

Leading scorers for the Wrecking Crew were Anita Riot with 11 points, and Dolla Billen with eight points. Top blockers for the team in blue and gold included Dar2 D2, Hollywood Hit'cha, and Reckless Vida.

The next home bout will be championship night on August 28 when the Hotties will skate against the Wrecking Crew, and the Shifters will skate against the Rumblers. More bout information
