Members of metal band Slipknot spoke tonight, unmasked, in a live press conference about the loss of their bassist, Paul Gray, who was found dead in an Iowa hotel yesterday morning.

Shawn "Clown" Crahan stated that Gray was "the essence of the band Slipknot" and echoed the sentiment of fans across the world by adding "[Paul] is going to be sadly missed and the world is going to be a different place without him."
Paul's wife, Brenna, also spoke briefly, asking that fans remember him as "an amazing person" as she and Gray's daughter will.
No details about Gray's sudden death have been released other than a statement from police that foul play was not suspected and an autopsy was scheduled to be performed today with results expected in approximately six weeks.
