Numark's iDJ PRO Exemplifies The Escalation Of Apps And iPads At NAMM 2012

By Phyllis Pollack

One of the greatest changes seen at NAMM 2012 was the exponential growth of not just the apps in NAMM's App Pavillion, but also the growing applications available for iPads.

One such product showcased at NAMM 2012 that integrates both, and that clearly stood out is the IDJ Pro from Numark.

All a DJ has to do is place their iPad in in the middle of its two-turntable deck, and the party is on. Serious mixing ready to ensue.

Also showcased at NAMM 2012's Preview Day, It is a complete DJ system that allows JDs to use all their programs, as the iDJ Pro has the iPad easily accessible. With its touch-activated turntables, the board comes with aluminum casing and lighted controls, for use in dark clubs or parties. CONTINUE READING BELOW THE ADVERTISEMENT.

With a 30-pin dock, for securing an iPod at the center, it also features Hot Cues, Loop and Effects controls. A DJ can send his or her mix to any AirPlay speakers. It comes equipped with RCA inputs, a 1/4 inch microphone input and balanced XLR outputs. Its two platters are touch sensitive.

Because of the iPad integration and the iPads placement at the center between the two turntables, easy access to any song in one's iTunes library is quick and painless.

The iDJ Pro is also a professional DJ controller that also works with Apple's Algoriddim's djay for iPad app that won 2011's Apple Design Award.. The The Numark dual-deck IDJ Pro can also function with other Core MIDI-enabled apps.

Because it is compatible with AirPlay, DJs can use it, while rocking their sets wirelessly through AirPlay speakers.

A professional microphone and external device inputs are included, along with balanced XLR master outputs for a professional experience.

In the NAMM 2012's App Pavilion, while Numark offers other DJ equipment, including their Mixdeck Quad for use with iPod, iPhone and iPad, this year, their iDJ PRO was the life of the party.
