The alternative weekly newspaper The Village Voice has compiled its list of the worst songs of the past decade, describing the list as "some of the most despicable examples of music inflicted on the world's hearing persons".
Nickelback, Weezer, Disturbed, Korn, and Hinder were among the rock entries on the list, which was topped by "Big Yellow Taxi" by Counting Crows with Vanessa Carlton, followed by Limp Bizkit lead singer Fred Durst's remix of "What's Goin' On" by Artists Against AIDS Worldwide. Tila Tequila, Blue October, and Alvin & The Chipmunks round out The Village Voice's top five.
Ozzy Osbourne, Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit, and Chad Kroeger of Nickelback were the only three artists to appear twice on the list, with both of Durst's entries making the top 10. Osbourne's contribution on 2000's "For Heaven's Sake 2000" (with Tony Iommi and Wu Tang Clan) came in at #40 while "Changes", his duet with daughter Kelly Osbourne, came in at #27. Kroeger appears on the list with "Into The Night", his collaboration with Santana, at #23 and Nickelback's recent single "Something In Your Mouth" at #19. Durst gets the "honor" of coming in at #8 (Limp Bizkit and Goo Goo Dolls' Johnny Rzeznik doing "Wish You Were Here") and the previously mentioned remix of "What's Goin' On" at #2.
