James (Jimmy) Owen Sullivan, the Avenged Sevenfold drummer also known as "The Rev", has died at 28, according to the Orange County Register and Blabbermouth. His body was found dead in his Huntington Beach home at approximately 1 PM on December 28th.
While The Orange County Coroner's Office is ruling his death from "natural causes", many of the band's fans are skeptical, theorizing that he could have died of drug abuse, claiming that Sullivan had a history of hard drug use.
The rest of Avenged Sevenfold have posted the following message on their official website:
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we tell you of the passing today of Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan. Jimmy was not only one of the world's best drummers, but more importantly he was our best friend and brother. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jimmy's family and we hope that you will respect their privacy during this difficult time.
Jimmy you are forever in our hearts.
We love you.M Shadows, Synyster Gates, Zacky Vengeance and Johnny Christ
