Kill Audio - Coheed and Cambria Visionary Goes Full Colour

KILL AUDIO

Evil Ink Comics - Fall 2009

Claudio Sanchez, the mastermind behind progressive rock band Coheed and Cambria, was in San DIego for Comic-Con 2009 getting the word out on his latest comic creation Kill Audio (sounds like Claudio). His first foray into the comic world The Armory Wars, related readers to the music of Coheed set to a futuristic world. Kill Audio strays from that and is based on an "immortal" Troll and his team of rebels set to bring down a society that dictates that creativity must be destroyed. Much like the band that Coheed seem to find comparison with, Rush, this does not relate to their own intergalactic battle for music rights with their 1976 release 2112

The concept came to Sanchez when he and his fiance were working on creating a vinyl toy by the same name (much like the Japanese style toys) and thought to just make it into a full blown story. Expect a mixture of old school style of DC Comics variety blended with the modern graphic look. However don't expect for the visual arts to take him away from his full-time gig as Coheed are set to hit the road for a month long tout opening for the legendary Heaven & Hell. Should make for strange bedfellows.
