 Mean Venus 

Mean Venus is an all original modern hard rock band from New Jersey. Formed in early 2006, Mean Venus is an explosion of raw energy fueled by years of studio, stage and songwriting experience. Reception to the band's self produced, self financed debut album, PCP (2008), has been overwhelmingly positive. Reception to the band's title track and first single released from their follow up album "Crazy Ass American" has been near ecstatic. "Crazy Ass American" is available on itunes and CD's are available at www.MeanVenus.com   In the past 3 years Mean Venus has been the opening band for numerous national acts including 7Mary3, Skid Row, Extreme, Ratt, Dokken, L.A.Guns, Stryper and UFO.

In April 2008, Mean Venus was honored to headline Hawaiian Chopper Magazine's Motorhead Classic in Honolulu, Hawaii. They also landed a coveted slot in 2008's Clearwater Festival. Mean Venus songs have received airplay all over the east coast (WDHA, WZZO, WYSP, etc.)

I've had the opportunity to photograph this band several times. I've watched them go through the line up changes and growing pains that every band inevitably goes through. With each change, Mean Venus has continued to hone their skills and come back better than before. It's become apparent that this is a band that is on it's way to bigger and better things. Mean Venus has done something that I haven't seen since the eighties, they're creating a buzz and they're doing it with rock music. Being a rock musician myself, I have to say that it's truly refreshing to see this happening.
