Zombies, and Wolves, and uh, another scary thing; oh my! Harmonix has released the DLC for the week of Monday, October 26, and they’ve themed this weeks’ songs around the upcoming Halloween festivities. Featuring Rob Zombie and Wolfmother packs, the downloads this week will keep the drummers in the house busy. Also available this week are two songs by Morningwood and Liz Phair’s “Rock Me”.
The Wolfmother pack is a solid choice for any instrument. All of the songs are fun and challenging on the drums, and most feature patterns not often found outside of Wolfmother songs. The guitar is a bit hit and miss, but should provide at least a few good songs. The vocals are naturally difficult, but quite a bit of fun as well, and very catchy.
As for the rest of the pack, it’s alright, but it could certainly be passed up. There’s nothing really special in any of the other songs to be had this week, though “Dragula” by Rob Zombie is notable for its popularity. It is nice to see more female vocalists make an appearance in the game, but it would be even nicer to see some more popular artists.
DLC for the week of 10/27/2009:
• Rob Zombie – “Burn”
• Rob Zombie – “Dragula”
• Rob Zombie – “Superbeast”
• Wolfmother – “New Moon Rising”
• Wolfmother – “Pilgrim”
• Wolfmother – “Sundial”
• Wolfmother – “White Unicorn”
• Wolfmother – “Woman”
• Liz Phair – “Rock Me”
• Morningwood – “Best of Me” *
• Morningwood – “Sugarbaby” *
(All tracks are original master recordings)
