Roadschooling doesn't actually have to take place on the road. Jennifer Miller, the New England Roadschooling Examiner, wrote up a fantastic list of ideas one can use anytime, anywhere. Her ideas for teaching geography include:
- creating maps of your home and neighborhood
- treasure hunts on an atlas
- consider the geography of past events
- look into the settings of popular books
- make food from other parts of the world
- create art projects from various countries
- write to state tourism offices for information
If you are planning to hit the road, already came back home, or are in the middle of your journey - use Jennifer's ideas to enrich your child's experiences!

I used to say I was a wannabe roadschooler. Based on your opinion - we are beyond just getting started! Such a great BOOSTER, allowing me to now say "I am roadschooling!"
