Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. - Exodus 20:8, King James Bible
On October 10, 2004, Senator Robert Byrd, now President pro tempore of the United States Senate -- third in the line of presidential succession, objected to the Senate conducting business on Sunday:
Today Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and President Obama, who will meet with the Senate Democratic caucus meeting Sunday afternoon, don't seem to have similar concerns about the Sabbath. Reid and Obama are more concerned about trying to pass their $2.5 trillion Obamacare legislation that will raise taxes, increase premiums and cut Medicare.
Why aren't Byrd's concerns still relevant today?
