On ABC's "Good Morning America," Jake Tapper and Diane Sawyer discuss how Obama is lost without a "Teleprompter:"
That's consistent with my impression that Obama is usually heavily scripted and prefers to deliver long speeches from a teleprompter. Without that remote control from his handlers, Obama is prone to gaffes such as his infamous clingy remarks at that San Francisco fundraiser.
It also explains why Obama backed away from Senator McCain's challenge for a series of joint pre-convention debates at town hall meetings:

O'Bama doesn't want to debate because he doesn't know enough to hold his own. Like the article says, he only does well when he has a pre written address.
Look how poorly he did in the forum at Saddleback last week.
You're grasping at straws, my friend. Say what you will, but the best thing Republicans can do for themselves is start saving up for 2018, because you're not going to see one of your own anywhere near the White House for the next eight years -- at least.
Let me get this straight, Dan. You're worried that Senator Obama uses a teleprompter? Your candidate is unable to remember how many houses he owns and wants to continue to ruin the country with a continuation of the failed Bush-Cheney politics of incompetence and corruption and you're concerned that like virtually all politicians, the smartest, most informed and qualified candidate to come along in years is relying on a teleprompter? Dan, what planet are you living on?
Does he ever really say anything? He preaches for what seems like an eternity and it is usually just puff.
John McCain's response to Dan's article: "What in tarnation is a teleprompter? I get around just fine with McCain force-1. Who knows if you'll even come out right on the other side messing around with one of those machines. Eh, what's that? That's a teleporter. Well hell, teleprompter, teleporter who can keep up with this crap. Now you remebered to bring that damn thing that tells me what I'm supposed to say didn't ya, this speech ain't gonna speak itself."
Obamessiah's failure to join John McCain in a town hall setting stems from his real life lack of experience in government. His handlers, those who pull the strings in his back, could not be reached for comment.
You guys are laughable. MCCAIN is lost WITH a teleprompter so what does that say about the republicans who persist to DIVIDE and CONQUER our nation.
