Republican congressional hopeful Michael Allegretti has received the endorsement of the Islandwide Republican Club.

“Michael will provide Staten Island with an independent conservative voice that will reflect the ideals of our community," said Al DeMarco, President of the club. 

"Join us as we work to take the seat back for the Republicans and away from Speaker Pelosi and the extreme liberal ideology of the Democrats," Mr. DeMarco added.
 
Mr.Demarco described Mr. Allegretti as someone who will focus on bringing jobs to the island, getting federal assistance to ease traffic congestion, and voting against the out of control spending and borrowing of the "Pelosi Congress.”

In response to the endorsement, Mr. Allegretti said:

"It is clear that the people of Staten Island are rallying around the idea of smaller government, fiscal conservatism, and bringing jobs back to the people."

The Island-Wide Republican Club is reportedly the second largest GOP club on Staten Island. 

Michael Allegretti grew up in Brooklyn.

He now resides on Staten Island.
