Let me preface this with the fact that I am going against the grain on this one. There are a few reviews of people who love this mascara, but they are usually the ones who know nothing about makeup and rarely use it.
If you are used to a dark full glamorous lash, you will hate this product. However, if you prefer your mascara to look like you brushed an empty non dipped applicator into a big vat of nothing, then you will love this. Yet, if that is the case, then why are you wasting your time and money on using mascara at all?
The consistency of product from container to container isn't the same, it runs dry, clumpy, and runny depending on which 'batch' you get. The brush is nothing spectacular, you can get the same disposable ones at any drugstore.
Zuzu mascara does not thicken, build volume or lengthen even when doing the makeup artist trick of building on the tips via letting it dry, and reapplying on the tips, over and over and over and over again. There just isn't enough product quality to even do that makeup technical 'cheat.' Besides who wants to spend 20 min. applying mascara every time you use it? Only someone insane. The packaging is a simple black and silver, but who cares, it's mascara, you dispose of it every 3 months, or before if it runs out.
Zuzu tends to be a fairly good Vegan makeup line. After falling in love with Zuzu's liquid liner, lip pencils, eye pencil liners, and foundation powder I was very disappointed to find their mascara is one of the worst I've ever tired. Zuzu mascara is right up there with Dr. Hauschka mascara and applying nothing. In fact clear mascara, or no mascara, is better than this product.
As always if you must try it, make sure you can return it as it runs between $12-$15. Places like Pharmica Int. have changed their return policy and don't allow used cosmetic returns anymore. To my knowledge WholeFoods does, so long as you keep your receipt. Regardless, this product it is buyer beware, every line has a straggler that under performs, with ZUZU it is the mascara.
