Now on DVD, Won't Back Down is a movie about a failing inner city school who had the inability to educate their students. The academic standards were increasingly poor and no one had the gumption to change the way things were. With determination and drive, one parent, Jamie, and one teacher, Nona, rose up to fight the status quo and make change to the underachieving school. Despite obstacles constantly being thrown in their paths Jamie and tirelessly fight for what they believe in the students and a great education.
Jamie and Nona had the dream of a school with educators who had a passion for teaching, where students can flourish academically. A school where every child would learns and their academic needs would be catered to. Their collaboration and drive made for a very dynamic, compelling, and inspiring movie.
The casting was excellent, and they added a powerful element to the film, and great depth to the characters. I would highly recommend this movie to both teachers and parents alike. Fighting for the best for your students and children's education is a worthy and admirable cause. Every child has the ability to learn, and with the right methods can have a successful academic career.
