A record number of excited supporters traveled to Washington, D.C., January 20th, to attend the 57th Inauguration of our 44th President Barak Obama! The millions who were unable to atted in person, watched intensely via the television. Several attendees share their memorable experiences.
Taylor Jones, AC Jones High School Beeville, TX "My most memorable thing was seeing President Barak Obama being sworn in. I was Nominated and chosen by the George Mason College Board. There were 400 other junior high and high school students worldwide who attended workshops on robotics, how to be a spy, community workshops, healthcare for the future, how to land an Internship, mass killings of Syria, and more. I attended one of the Balls, and everyone looked beautiful and handsome."
Rev. Dr. T.L. and 1st Lady Nell Brown, Cedar Hill, TX
“Our Washington D.C trip was an AWESOME experience. The trip was a lifetime experience! We will never forget it. Our plane was a chartered plane by our congress woman Eddie Bernice Johnson. We were given tickets to her Texas Chili cook out and we were also given tickets to the 57th President's Inaugural Celebration for our 44th President Barack Obama . We attended the Texas Black Tie and Boots Ball. That night was Texas style. The ladies were dressed in their gowns and the men were wearing tuxedos. We walked the red carpet with different congress officials. Miss Texas, Ron Kirk, Charley Pride, Clyde Drexler, Yolanda Adams, and Jamie Foxx all from Texas were there. The entertainment was awesome and you could have all the food you wanted. We also shopped at the Ball there were several retailers with jewelry, boots, scarfs, hats, purses, and of course The President Barack Obama and family souvenirs. The best time of the trip was getting to the Inaugural celebration on Monday morning. We started our morning at 3:30am getting ready to go over to the metro station to get to our station to enter the gate with our Gold ticket entrance. The weather was cold and the crowd was increasing as the time got closer to the ceremony. Everyone was friendly and excited waiting with great expectation to see our President be sworn in as our 44th President for a second term!!! Everyone celebrated with laughter and shouts. What a day! Before we left we visited the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial. That is a place you must see.Once in a lifetime trip! We took several pictures and we video also. We were blessed to have experience such a great event!”

“Learn to us the mass transportation system in D.C. I really thought the metro system was great! I observed how well the people in wheel chairs were accommodated. It was an awesome experience!”

“I enjoyed my trip to Washington, D.C. It was great to see President Barak be sworn in for a second term. I enjoyed seeing the Martin Luther King Monument also! Since it was so cold, everyone was wrapped up to stay warm, including hats and scarfs...hairstyles were mainly seen at the Balls."
Kenneth Williams, Forest Hills, TX
”The experience is one I will never forget. For me it was filled with excitement, emotional, humility and commitment. It rejuvenated my spirit when others just like me felt like one big family. Then it hit me. I am 57 years old standing listening at the 57th Inauguration at the steps of the nations capital with my friends and family. I listened intently with a smile and tears of joy in the mist of millions who came around the world. AWESOME! One moment that will last with me forever…WOW! I might call it the flight to unity and the wonderful bus ride back with urgency."
Mrs. Deborah Peek-Haynes, Dallas, TX "I was absolutely wonderful! I also attended the Tuesday morning church service, which was wonderful."
