The National Arts Club Fashion Committee presented their FashionSpeaks Friday: The Art of Modeling featuring the Wilhelminia Modeling Agency.

David Zyla, the chairperson of the committee, introduced guest speaker Melissa Margolin Cooper (daughter of the founder of the Wilhelmenia Modeling Agency and former super model Wilhelmenia “Willie” Cooper). Melissa opened her narrative with the history of the Wilhemeina Modeling Agency that her supermodel mother created. This unique fashion event narrated by Melissa featured the well established Wilhelmina models Coco Rocha, Robyn Lawley, and Armando Cabral.

The packed house of attendees at this event included the National Arts Club Committee members, the press, aspiring and past models, and numerous fashion-conscious spectators. Melissa asked poignant questions related to the modeling careers of these three successful models. These questions revealed a “real insight” into these models experiences, talents, and their personalities.

Robyn Lawley (www.robynlawley.com)

The highlight of this model's career so far is the major contract she landed in September 2012 to be the first plus size model for Ralph Lauren. She is also the first plus size model to appear in shots for "Australian Vogue" and "GQ Australia." Lawley was also the first plus size model on the cover of an Australian fashion magazine called "Madison.” Lawley has created her own plus size swimwear line for women (http://www.madisonplusselect.com/collections/robyn-lawley-swim).

Coco Rocha (www.cocorocha.com)

Rocha was born Mikhaila Rocha in Toronto, Ontario, and grew up in Richmond, British Columbiawhere she attended Hugh McRoberts Secondary School. Her family is in the airline industry. She is of Irish, Russian, and Welsh descent. Coco has been at the forefront of recent United States legislation to protect young model's rights and to prevent them from being exploited.

Armando Cabral (http://armando-cabral.com)

Armando is most known for his work with J.Crew and H&M, as well as editorials in Esquire and GQ. Armando has created a line of high end shoes that are sought after worldwide (http://armando-cabral.com).
