Wildfire Restaurant offers homemade gluten-free chocolate chip cookies

Imagine my surprise when on a recent trip to Wildfire Restaurant for lunch we discovered the new gluten-free dessert offering of chocolate chip cookies.  This Examiner has been a fan of their flourless chocolate cake for a while and secretly wishes she could buy a whole one for her birthday, so it was nice to see another dessert item being offered that is homemade.

The chocolate chip cookies are baked to order and delivered to your table warm.  Three chocolate chip cookies come in an order and they are made using: Domata flour (rice), butter, sugar, dark brown sugar, eggs, milk, vanilla extract, salt, baking soda, pecans, and Guayaquil chocolate.

The cookies are loaded with gooey chocolate chips and the pecans add to the great texture.  Normally this Examiner doesn't care for nuts in her cookies, so it was a pleasant surprise to find them a great fit with the taste and texture of the cookie. While the cookies are still warm they tend to break apart easily, but once they are completely cool they hold together perfectly.

How nice it was to have a homemade dessert delivered to the table warm.  For those of you who like ice cream, it would be neat to order it and make your own ice cream sandwiches at the table.  The gluten-free chocolate chip cookies are available at all U.S. locations.

Wildfire makes their own gluten-free bread, buns, pizza crust and desserts (all contain dairy) and they have a gluten-free menu that is loaded with tasty choices.
