What cupcake pan does more? (Photos)

Sometimes newly-designed items aren’t for the better. Often new gadgets are a let down. But Chicago Metallic has made an improvement to a cupcake pan that makes good sense. Introducing the UPtake™ by Chicago Metallic

Here at Home and Living we baked up a batch of our seasonal treat, Pumpkin Muffins with Streusel Topping, just to test things out.

You still use cupcake liners, whether paper or foil, and the surface of the pan itself is over safe to 450-degrees, and nonstick in nature. But this pan is a set with a plastic lid. So when the cupcakes are cool, you can place them into the lid that makes the cupcakes pop-up for mess-free serving. After everyone has taken their cake, just turn the lide over and snap it into place—voila—you have a cupcake carry case with handle.

Our muffins came out great as usual (we baked them at 375-degrees instead of 400 because our oven runs a little hot) but the cake was moist as usual and the recipe was a success.
