Weird Al Yankovic Apocalypse Tour

Weird Al' Yankovic brought his Alpocalypse Tour to the gorgeous Majestic Empire Theatre last Friday, October 18. This marks the tour's 148th stop as he wrapped up in Tulsa, Oklahoma last week. A diverse group of multigenerational fans gathered to witness Weird Al offer up some laughs and entertainment in a style and manner that only he can masterfully deliver. Weird Al, accompanied by this 4-piece band, opened up his concert with Lady Gaga rewrite 'Polka Face,' intertwined with Britney Spears, Flo Rida, Bieber, Owl City and Katy Perry. Looking around the audience, there wasn’t a single individual who didn’t have a huge grin on their face as they watched the quirky and charismatic artist dancing around the stage. More high tech than on previous tours, Weird Al donned fantastically outrageous costume and was in perfect sync with video and music. The 53 year old performer never stopped, emerging from the curtain on a Segway for ‘White & Nerdy,’ a fat suit for ‘Fat’, and an elaborate peacock costume for “Perform This Way.' A notable highlight was the encore, where Star Wars fans were thrilled to see several Storm Troopers, a Tusken Raider, and Darth Vader join Weird Al and his band, who were dressed as Jedi, onstage for ‘The Saga Begins’ and ‘Yoda.'
