Web series 'Kiss Like Big Dogs' released

Kiss Like Big Dogs by Chicagoan Dakota Loesch is a five episode web series that was released Feb 14th. The main character played by Loesch, Kelly Youngman, is going through life with no steady job, no place to live, and still manages to have one girlfriend after another. Loesch describes him as "a young guy who lives life like he's the lead in a cheesy romantic comedy...he's a wannabe silver screen lothario."

Kiss Like Big Dogs was put together by Loesch and his friends on a shoestring budget. It looks and sounds better than most shows currently on network TV. The episodes are like short movies and high quality.

One example, Episode 4, is a single shot, tour de force of film making, wherein Kelly wanders the streets on a sunny day. He starts out chasing after his girlfriend Alicia (Kristen E. Ellis), carrying a beer and they are breaking up. She doesn't like his drinking, they argue while walking and she leaves. It is not an unusual scene, but when it ends, Kelly finishes off the beer and the camera follows as he walks right into the next breakup scene with Nora (Lydia Ellis-Curry). She has a laundry list of complaints for Kelly and he fires right back demeaning her occupational choice. They go back and forth a few times and she storms off in a huff, all still in the same shot.

Kelly goes over to a fountain, throws down his bag, washes up, then walks straight into the third breakup scene! He sits on a wall behind a bench with Anna (Mallorie Marino). This one is not a fighting, but a crying, kissing breakup. And if there wasn't enough to coordinate in this 8 minute shot, after Anna leaves, musician and composer, Christian Dageforde is in the background at the end of the episode playing a mandolin and singing through the credits.

Check out Kiss Like Big Dogs, you won't be disappointed.
