Review: WDW Splitsville
Just when you think that bowling is just another game, Disney got involved and kicked it up several notches by bringing in Splitsville, a luxury bowling alley. What’s a luxury bowling alley you might ask? Well, of course since it’s located in Downtown Disney there needs to be Mickey and Minnie bowling balls and the usual family friendly environment, topped with a playing area for parties and adults to enjoy the scene as well.
When you arrive at Splitsville you are greeted by a hostess who will guide you to your reserved party area or you can go in to just eat, walk around, sit at the bar and watch several TV monitors which play sports or just people watch from the ground or second level balcony. This is a multilevel bowling alley with what appears to be 30 lanes, four alleys per area on both the first and second level. There’s a sitting area and bar outside and on the first and second floors.
People are recommended to make reservations for what looks like your local neighborhood bowling alley but a slightly higher cost for food and beverages, in addition to being able to bowl and have bowling and drinking parties. Prices are the average for the theme park area. It’s a nice place to people watch but mainly for tourists and those who are looking for a night out but definitely not a place for locals to go as the cost and parking at Downtown Disney isn’t quite worth the experience, but may be just to say you went once to gawk at the bright lights and shiny bowling balls with Mickey and Minnie’s imprint on it. I gave this place three stars for ambiance and creativity but that's about it.
