'Warm Bodies' is Romeo and Juliet with zombies

Most people know the story of Romeo and Juliet. Now add zombies. The romantic comedy Warm Bodies explores the story of two star crossed lovers you meet during the zombie apocalypse. The predictable story gets a modern and believable twist with a rather impressive soundtrack.

R (Nicholas Hoult) is an unusually talkative zombie who frees Julie (Teresa Palmer) from certain death after her group is attacked looking for medical supplies. It's love at first sight for R, although Julie takes longer to warm up to him after losing her boyfriend. R and Julie hang out in an abandoned airplane, listening to vinyl and talking.

The story is predictable but quirky, with lots of slow zombie walking and grunting. Directed by Jonathan Levine, the story shows R slowly becoming more and more human with each minute he spends with Julie. While the trailer gives most of the film away, there are some comical moments involving a polaroid camera, a red convertible and some makeup.

The horror aspect of the film comes from the Boneys, the screaming skeletons who attack the living. After meeting R, Julie spends the majority of the film trying to convince the rest of the humans that the dead can change. This is the set up for the infamous balcony scene which makes you forget about the zombie apocalypse and focus on the sappy teenage love story. Watch Warm Bodies to see if R and Julie get a happy ending.
