"Midnight Fang" by Voyageur is a very moody and dreamy Indie Pop album.
The opening track (entitled: 'Dusk') is an instrumental piece, starting things off in a very ambient / trance vein... this piece doesn't bore because it moves.
On the second track we are introduced to the vocals, which sound rather laid back and not strained throughout- sticking with the mellow feel of the opening track.
Around the third song Voyageur's vision begins to be made clearer, this sound is incredibly catchy, enjoyable, and somehow manages to excite while remaining very restrained and relaxed throughout. Perhaps it's the emptiness in-between sounds which adds to this, baiting the listener with anticipation, and delivering. At this point their sound becomes somewhat similar to Liars.
Instrumentally pieces are made up of a heady bass, sparse jangle percussion, and fat reverb soaked guitar lines (which are the main instrumental feature in most pieces).
Altogether a very enjoyable listen throughout, "Midnight Fang" is a mellow masterpiece.
