If the band’s recent performance at The Joint in Las Vegas is any indication, guests on board the VH1 Best Cruise Ever will not be disappointed when Lifehouse takes the stage this April. The band put on a stellar show on Friday night as they approach the end of the US leg of their Smoke and Mirrors tour, which heads to Europe in February.
Lifehouse front man Jason Wade’s allure was at an all-time high during Friday’s performance. Taking fans on a ride that went from frenetic to moving and back up again, Wade and his band gave the crowd everything—twice. The song Everything, that is. Wade performed two separate renditions of the fan favorite—an acoustic solo snippet of the song, and the complete song with the band. The acoustic version was part of an intimate solo set performed by Wade, who let the crowd choose some of his older songs for him to sing. Simon, an unreleased song from the band’s debut album No Name Face, and a beautifully emotional Storm, were perfect choices to kick off the solo acoustic set that also included Everything and From Where You Are.
The show quickly regained its energy following the emotional acoustic set as the band gave the crowd some of the older hits they were craving, like Hanging By A Moment, First Time, and Broken. The band performed Halfway Gone, the first single from their current album Smoke and Mirrors, during the encore, wrapping up with Everything.
The performance on stage was solid, but that’s not all the crowd experienced. The lucky fans who waited for hours to get to the front of the pit were also treated to some face time with Wade, who jumped down off the stage and reached out into the crowd during the show.
Lifehouse is scheduled to perform on the VH1 Best Cruise Ever April 28 through May 2, 2011. The cruise sets sail from Tampa, Fl., and stops in Cozumel, Mexico. Fans of Lifehouse who attend the cruise have the opportunity to meet the band and have their photo taken with the guys. For more information or to book a cabin, visit vh1bestcruiseever.com.
