Vera Set 3 (2014)

Detective Chief Inspector Vera Stanhope (Brenda Blethyn) is not your ordinary police inspector. This woman could look at you the wrong way and make you talk. Though her approach to a case is rather direct there is a soft side that lets you know that she just wants the truth. Sgt. Joe Ashworth (David Leon) is her well let's just say her right hand man. Yes, she leans on him more than any other person on the team. Detective Constable Kenny Lockhart (Jon Morrison) and forensic pathologist Billy Cartwright (Paul Ritter) round out the team.

Though Vera does lean on Joe mostly you really know that the four of them make a great team. Vera knows it and uses the knowledge to solve her cases not so much on her own but with their help. This makes for incredible stories and wonderful endings.

Vera was first brought to American through AcornTV. This 4 disc DVD release comes out on January 28,2014. The DVD quality is beyond reproach. The sound and visual are of the highest quality. Along with the DVD set you will also receive a photo gallery and text interview with Brenda Blethyn and David Leon.

If you have never seen this series before but are aware of the quality mysteries that usually come out of England then you will not be disappointed.

'Vera' has become one of the first rate shows that is being produced at this time. The quality of the work is wonderful and is very enjoyable to watch. 'Vera' takes the time and allows the viewer to be able to follow along with the story and not have the questions that linger sometimes after viewing a mystery. 'Vera' wraps up a story and leaves you wanting more, and more is coming. Season 4 will be available soon. So sit back and enjoy thoughtful television at its best.
