If you happen to be in the Providence downtown area for lunch or dinner and are looking for delicious vegan cuisine, then look no further than Veggie Fun. The Pan-Asian Vegan restaurant is Kosher certified and serves mainly vegan meals. However, the vegetarian diner will find the menu just as pleasing.

When stepping into the interior, be prepared for a comfortable and quiet ambiance with an upscale twist. Patrons have a seating choice of either tables or booth-style. The place is neither rowdy nor overcrowded and there’s never a wait for seating. The waitstaff is friendly and the service is great. If there is something you don’t understand on the menu, just ask; they are more than willing to answer all of your questions.

The Pan-Asian title signifies menu selections native to various Asian countries like Japan, China, Vietnam, Singapore, Korea, Thailand and Malaysia, just to name a few. They have something for everyone. Gluten free items are available upon request.

The menu is fairly extensive offering appetizers, soups, salads, rice and noodle dishes, main entrees, blended hot teas, homemade iced drinks and a few desserts. The bar is located at the front end of the restaurant and serves a short list of alcoholic beverages that includes red & white wine, beer, sangria, margaritas and mojitos.

For an appetizer you may want to try the sweet yam fries, vegetable dumplings (steamed or fried) or their own creation of the scallion pancake with homemade mango salsa.
The main entrees are also a tasty delight. You might find yourself ordering more than one just to sample something different or to share. Many people have fast become regulars as there are not a lot of vegan restaurants in the area. From black pepper seitan to tofu delight or the Malaysian curry stew, every bite is one to remember. Finally, a dessert worth experiencing is the fried ice cream - the outside is warm while the inside stays cold. Every bite is like heaven to your taste buds.

Prices range from moderate to high, but the portion sizes make it all worthwhile. Veggie Fun is definitely a must for the L’il Rhody vegan connoisseur.
