Vega One Protein Shake

Anyone who has gluten issues would shy away from products with long ingredient lists or ingredient lists with too many unrecognizable ingredients. Long ingredient lists mean hidden ingredients and there is so much gluten out there that it makes more sense to simply avoid those product lines with long lists. Too risky to guess. Unless the product has gluten-free printed on the package.

It would be worthwhile for more manufacturers to consider those two simple words and print them on the package. Protein powders have long, long ingredient list products. It is beneficial to supplement your diet with protein but the list of ingredients is intimidating. Until now.

Vega One makes a plant based protein powder supplement in several wonderful flavors, including vanilla chai, plain and chocolate. The labels on the container state that the product is gluten-free, dairy-free, and soy-free. Many people who are gluten sensitive, also have dairy and soy sensitivities so this one is a gift for those with food allergies. Most protein powders are dairy based or soy based, so they do not meet the dietary requirements of those food allergic folks.

So let's look at what else it has going for it. First of all it tastes amazing and when mixed with water in a shaker cup, it easily dissolves most of the powder with only a small amount of sediment remaining. So far, we have only tried the chocolate and the plain which we mixed in with a smoothie recipe made from pineapple juice, a banana and a cup of frozen blueberries. It makes a great start to the day.

There is more too. In order to take in all the vitamin and antioxidant supplements that we should be consuming as we age, we are constantly taking pills and I find that I get a little resistant to taking more than four pills in a day. Vega One not only contains 15 g of protein, but also contains Omega 3s, 6g of fiber, 50% of daily RDI for vitamins and minerals, the equivalent of three servings of greens and a huge portion of your daily antioxidants. Two servings can give you your complete requirement for the day for everything.

All these benefits, no dairy, no soy, no gluten, no animal products. And 156 calories per serving. This is the closest thing to a miracle powder that I have ever tried.
