Johnny Whitworth, (CSI: Miami,) stars in this delightful comedy about a porn star (Vick Velour) who just isn't into it any more. He decides to walk offset, actually he wanders offset, buck-naked and ends up in a mental ward.
His parents go to Hollywood and pick up their son, who's real name is Andy Taggart, taking him back with them to their place in the Arizona sun. A senior community where no one could possibly know about his sordid past, or at least he doesn't think so.
Why do people think us senior citizens don't know about things like porn? We practically invented it.
Andy's journey through this new life starts out with his parents showing him off. No worries, no one will know who he was in his former life. However, one hot senior citizen knows exactly who he is and really wants to get to know him. Before he knows it, he is helping a woman, the sexy senior citizen, Bunny, played by the beautiful Bette Ford get involved with a man she really likes, Joe played by Garrett Morris. Bunny is married to the Bible thumping community boss, who is just a really unpleasant person.
Hiding in the desert is obviously not possible, so he tries his best to help those who come to him for sexual advice. He endears himself to them. He also endears himself to Betsy, Heather Burns, who actually knows who he is, or rather was, and doesn't care.
With life getting better, the husband of the sexy senior citizen, threatens to end the fun for not only Andy, but his parents also.
This is a charming film. Even though the subject matter seems like there would be lots of hot sex scenes, they're really aren't. Most of the film is very funny and a nice cool breeze in between a bunch of over sexualized films that have nothing to say and only plastic bodies to show.
"Valley of the Sun" will be available tomorrow on DVD and VOD. Do yourself a favor and enjoy one of the best films so far this summer.
