The small zoo travels, bringing an exciting array of animals to many type venues - from churches to county fairs and other events. Valley Exotics Zoo shares knowledge of the animals and offers a once in a lifetime opportunity for many people. With an education and conservation message, it is fun and enlightening.
Valley Exotics Zoo is owned by Jamie and Dianna Beneke of Eaton, Ohio. The parents of three young children, Dianna also is a teacher while Jamie does most of the business for Valley Exotics Zoo. It is certainly a family business as even the children get involved in animal care and handling. Dianna's never-ending energy has her bottle-feeding baby animals with her favorite being the coatimundis.
The kids are involved in feeding, caring for and playing with the animals. Jake and Wyatt help often while little sister Zoey isn't quite big enough to help yet. Children love to learn about different animals and while Valley Exotics Zoo offers this to the public, these kids live a life many only dream of!
The zoo offers a large variety for any event, from pony rides to reptile displays, nativity scenes, pictures with animals and more. The variety of animals is too numerous to list but includes livestock from common farms to unusual livestock from other countries. Snakes, tortoises and tarantulas to lemurs, birds and kangaroos to hedgehogs. Finding a more diverse educational petting zoo would be difficult, if not impossible, in Ohio.
The Facebook page for Valley Exotics Zoo gives updates and schedules plus availability and contact info. Bob the Bird, a Goffins cockatoo, has his own Facebook page and Rocky the Kangaroo can be seen in Delphos, Ohio, at the Kangaroo Cave occasionally. New exhibits, animals and opportunities are worth watching for!
