On Friday, March 15, The Fader Fort presented by Converse was full of surprises. Rapper T.I. joined his protege Trae onstage and performed a few songs, to the delight of the audience. T.I. performed his hit "What You Know" with Pharrell as his hypeman. Future was next to play at Fader Fort. Future performed "Same Damn Time" and "Turn Out The Lights" during his 45 minute set. Stereogum posted an in-depth review of the evening at Fader Fort presented by Converse.
Usher joined The Afghan Whigs onstage at the Fader Fort presented by Converse and performed a unique set. They played both Afghan Whigs and Usher songs and performed a rendition of Sinkane's “Running.” The Whigs played their Frank Ocean cover, "Lovecrimes." Usher then showed up onstage to help them finish “Climax.” Usher sang "Somethin' Hot" with the Whigs after that. Usher told the assembled crowd that it was his first SXSW and he wanted to make it a memory for himself and for his fans. The Whigs played an amazing rock rendition of “OMG” with Usher to close out their unforgettable set.
Thanks to Fader Magazine for hosting another excellent SXSW party this year with Converse.
