You work so hard at keeping your makeup on, and if you take even take a small amount of effort in the morning, whether you're doing a sleek cat eye, giving more than two coats of mascara, or applying a strong lipstick, your silent hope is that it won't evaporate withing a few hours.
And the truth is, even though you apply products that are supposed to last for more than 6-12 hours, makeup does wear and rub off, no matter what. Enter the secret sauce: the makeup setting sprays from Urban Decay in partnership with SKINDINAVIA, which come in three distinct varieties, each with the purpose of making you get on with your life without worrying about smudges and lipstick stains.
Urban Decay's triple threat Makeup Setting Sprays come in three varieties:
All Nighter: This is the classic, and helps prevent makeup melting and gives you a soft finish focus in a matter of minutes. What I love about All Nighter is that it really helps your face'glow and helps your makeup last and last...especially your foundation. Plus, it gives you an almost dewy look ---that's the soft finish.
De-Slick: This is for those who want oil control, and what it does is it doesn't give you a shiny surface like the All Nighter--it's more for those who want a matte option.
Chill: This is quite innovative, and features a cooling and hydrating technology. It actually cools the surface of your makeup and helps it last 12 hours without any smudging. Use this during the warmer summer months, and it's ideal for combination skin.
These are the only setting sprays with temperature control that actually lowers the temperature of your makeup so it lasts longer.
How they measured up
All Nighter was my hands down favorite because of the soft finish focus. I loved the dewy look. Plus, my makeup did last a good eight hours before I reapplied. The best part was that it preserved the integrity of my foundation, and that's not always easy to do. Chill was another favorite of mine because of the cooling effect: my skin felt as though I had entered the Ice Hotel.
Each of these comes in brand new packaging, with color coded cap that's specific to each formula. Plus, the mist goes on fine and weightless, and is an excellent way (along with your Urban Decay Primer) to ensure that your hard work in application pays off.
Each makeup setting spray retails for $29 online and in Sephora.
