UnUrban Cafe is a little place on Pico Blvd in Santa Monica just down the street from McCabe's. It's a great venue for grabbing a drink and hanging out on your laptop but it's also a cool place for music.
The back room seats about 40 people and is a cozy atmosphere. There are writers nights and regular acts that play as well as other events like poetry and political discussions. The sound guy, Matthew, is really good at mixing the tunes so they sound perfect in the space. The vibe is very relaxed and comfortable.
For a full meal before or after the show check out Lares which is an authentic Mexican place that is walking distance going west on Pico. Within driving distance is the Westside Pavilion mall and lots of restaurants along Pico on your way there. Of course, UnUrban also has tasty sandwiches, soups and drinks too.
