Uncle Maddio's Pizza Joint: A New Way to Enjoy Pizza

The Highlands neighborhood is full of pizza places, from family-owned mainstays to after hours hot spots. So there were obvious skeptics when the sign for a new pizza place appeared at the intersection of Bardstown Road and Grinstead Drive. How could another pizza place compete with the almost excessive number already established? Well Uncle Maddio's brought something unique to the table: fresh ingredients, new menu options, and a familiar yet new way of ordering pizza. 

The restaurant itself epitomizes the "fresh" look the franchisers were undoubtedly trying to convey. The modern appearance of the dining room and stainless steel appliances coupled with healthy menu options help eliminate some of the guilt associated with going out for pizza. Maddio's offers both gluten-free dough and wheat dough in addition to a regular white dough when making your pizza. They offer six different sauces and over 45 different toppings, even the pickiest of eaters will find something that interests them.

What really makes Uncle Maddio's unique to the pizza industry is the way customers order. It's a method that has been wildly successful in the sandwich and burrito industry, but one Louisville had not seen in the pizza industry. It's similar to Qdoba and Subway in that the customer can build their own pizza and watch as it is assembled in  front of them. Customers can also choose from any of Maddio's wonderful signature pizzas or opt for a sandwich or salad using the same fresh ingredients that sets Uncle Maddio's apart from the competition.

Ultimately what makes Uncle Maddio's so great is the ability to customize everything. Not only can you customize your food but also your whole experience. In a hurry? Call ahead or get it to go, pizzas only take a few minutes to cook. Want to socialize with friends? Stay a while, grab a pitcher of beer, watch the game. It's completely up to the customer.
