Udi's Bakery has been around since 1994, long before the crave for artisan breads exploded in Denver. Before the cafe's opened, Udi's provided its artisan breads to many of the top restaurants in the city and state. The expansion continue with granola (which they now sold), booths in local farmer markets and finally, their new cafe concept.
Now their Cafe concept has spread through the city and more to come. But it is no surprise to see the great welcoming their baked goods have had, 30 year in the making.
Maurizio Negrini, the head baker, a third generation Italian baker has grown an impressive collection of European bread, all perfectly made, which now also make an intricate part of the menu served in their Cafe and catering.
The croissants stood up to the challenge and delivered every bit of flakiness, light buttery goodness expected of an "yeast master." Negrini is a master in his craft and one of the best, if not the best, baker's in Denver.
The scones are very typical, dry and sweet, nothing out of the norm.
Highly recommend the baked goods to go or eat in, as well as their breakfast burrito with pork green chili, and their super spicy chai latte.
