Aficionados of live jazz will want to closely track the performance trail of voice and piano duo Hart & Soul. With the dream of every vocalist, Llew Matthews, at the piano, vocalist Jennifer Hart offers engaging renditions of jazz standards and then some.
Guests at The Tee Room on the grounds of the Newport Beach Golf Course most recently enjoyed the jazz stylings of the popular Hart and Matthews team. Joined by bassist Benjamin May and drummer Bob Forte, the duo breathed their own unique brand of fresh life into an evening of Gershwin tunes. Hart also charmed her audience with clever repartee and interesting facts about the music and the composer.
The Tee Room offers a regular schedule of live jazz on a reservation basis. Drinks and a buffet dinner are optional. Contact The Tee Room for information.
There are other ways for jazz lovers to partake of the music. Concerts organized by the nonprofit Jazz4us take place at two locations. The Back Bay Bistro and the Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club host an array of outstanding seasoned and upcoming performers in a regular series of events. Advance reservations are required. Contact Jazz4us.
