Over the years as a music journalist I have received tons of splits, but the upcoming one on Save Your Generation Records, TV Dinner (4 Way Split), featuring Hung Up, The Swellers, Lobby Boxer, and 1876, is certainly one of the more exceptional of the lot. And that is really saying something.

The record opens with "Here to Stay" by Michigan pop punk foursome Hung Up. Track two by the mighty Flint-based punk quartet The Swellers is a very well-executed cover of Floor's "Tales of Lolita." "Anxiety," the third track by St. Louis trio Lobby Boxer and easily my favorite on the split, is full of creative indie rock notework and punk as hell parts, with spectacular vocals. Another Flint four-piece band,1876, close the split with "Le Planetarium," a dirty rock'n'roll and post-punk trash piece.

TV Dinner (4 Way Split) by Save Your Generation Records is available for pre-order now. Pre-orders, however, are limited to 150 red/clear vinyl records.
