Turntablism 2011 Champion rocks Insert Coin(s) in Vegas

Rodney Lister, owner of A Big Rod Production, created, founded and opened the doors for those self proclaimed master mixers, who's passionate, as well as focused, on perfecting their skills in Las Vegas and to be called the winner of the latest catch phrase of the " 2011Turntablism Champion." The score sheet consisted of categories with a maximum of five (5) points and that being considered excellent. Below are the categories that were judged by Chris, Dj Outlaw and Dj DuWopRose. By the way, shout out to Dj DuWopRose for her hyping up the crowd for what was to come; nevertheless, let's give her credit where credit is due! Every head in the house was swinging.

Insert Coin(s), located at 512 Fremont, in downtown Las Vegas, was unbelievably filled with wall to wall gamers, hip-hop fanatics, old school to wanna be disc jockey’s and familiar faces, all who just came to kick it and ear hustle the sounds of the hottest street beats.

After tracking down the organizer of this first time, annual booming event, Rodney Lister answered some quick questions with righteous questions. In other words, Lister expressed, "What is a DJ if he can't scratch? What is a DJ if he can't mix? Is he really a DJ? The word 'turntablist' was coined to describe the difference between a DJ who just played records, and one who performs by touching, while moving the records; a human stylus and mixer to manipulate sound." Lister went on to introduce the latest expression "TURNTABLISM," which his sole purpose primarily was to select the best battle DJ in Las Vegas, followed by awarding that chosen conqueror one thousand dollars ($1,000) take home cash, along with, well deserved bragging rights. Sweet!

This past weekend, eight DJ’s came to move the crowd. These eight competitors’ traveled from near and far for one reason-to win with a vengeance. In addition, the ultimate goal of course, in each of their minds, is strictly to crush and destroy the other seven opponents, plus proved to each of them as to who’s the real Turntablist perfectionist. By doing this, the word on the streets will mushroom and be recognized as a deserving entitlement of King of the 1’s and 2’s, while all others are numberless. Oh yes, it's serious, according to Rodney Lister.

As it stands, the vibe was sick with vinyl- a hip-hop restoration. That being said, each DJ’s persona represented their individual technique.   Beyond a doubt, Dj P-Nut, Dj Keilo, Dj Rip 1, Dj Andrew B, Dee Jay Hype and Dj KaOtik all put it down with some amazing hip-hop transitions, which wouldn’t stop!  Each personality captured a mixture of everything from Lil Wayne, Drake, Missy Elliot, Nas, Jay-Z, Sugar Hill Gang, Craig Mack, Doug E Fresh, Tupac and Biggie; please believe, the list continued.

The finalist came down to DJ Stubbs and DJ Lenny Ducano.   Again, they are all winners, but Dj Lenny Ducano just so happened to be the 2011 Turntablism Champion of Las Vegas. Incidentally, Ducano traveled from Los Angeles, California to win the cash prize of one thousand dollars ($1,000) and of course bragging rights.
