Trying to Put Country Back Downtown

A new bar Downtown Spokane, yea, we are are on that and we welcomed Big City Saloon with open arms. Welcoming fresh blood to the strip of bars down on Sprague we checked them out twice...to be sure. The first time they found out who we were because we had to ask to take pictures...second time we got in unnoticed! After giving the very grumpy door girl our $5 to get in we tried to make it up to the bar. Knowing the capacity count at this particular establishment we knew they were over it. But back to the important part, the booze! We go up and order from a bartender that looks twelve and obviously isn't happy to be there and receive a nothing special, very over priced shot. After raping us at the door you would think we would get some great drink specials...nope. The VIP sections are nice, but it was only a facelift for the good old Spotlight. The crowd was different, not your normal Downtown people. There was flannel everywhere! On the mini dancefloor, on the mechanical bull, even on the 12 bartenders there seemed to be. But they play top twenty music with a country song thrown in once or twice. Their Social Media presence used to be strong as well, now it seems as if someone is just doing it because they have to. Needless to say we were disappointed with this new bar at 321 W Sprague Avenue. We will have to check back.
