Trust is an electronic group from Canada that gained notoriety in the late 2000s with a couple singles of dark techno. Trst is an album full of their awkward electronic darkness.
“Candy Walls” and “Bulbform” are singles that were released in 2011. “Candy Walls” is very slow, dark, and emotionally hollow whereas “Bulbform” is a highly danceable techno track inspired by the 90s techno boom. The other tracks are uneven at best.
“Shoom” is a good imitation of lame 80s darkwave electronica with a lot of geeky 80s syth melodies. “Dressed for Space” is another danceable track that pulls from the 90s but is dragged down by the vocals that are culled from the 80s darkwave; “The Last Dregs” has the same problem.
The majority of the other tracks are worse off because of the tedious 80s new wave synthesizers with the exception of “Sulk” that tones down the cornier sounds but is still marred by the dreary, borderline creepy, vocals that affect the ability to create more nightmares than desire to dance.
