Argentina’s Trumpeter wines are made by Rutini, one of the oldest and most respected Mendoza wineries. The Trumpeter line of wines is everyday wine meant to be enjoyed with dinner, a glass of wine after work, or to enjoy with friends.
Trumpeter, Chardonnay, Mendoza, Argentina, 2013 is golden yellow in the glass. It has plenty of up front citrus including lemon, lime and mandarin orang with wet slate in the background. The palate is filled with tangy citrus up front with plenty of minerals rounding out the palate with a tart acidic finish. The acidic finish makes this Chardonnay very food friendly that excites the palate and gets your mouth ready for the next bite. Enjoy with grilled chicken or pasta with a creamy sauce.
Trumpeter, Malbec. Mendoza, Argentina, 2012 is deep purple in color in the glass. Blackberry and boysenberry with fresh laid asphalt and slate fill the nose. Tart black cherry, blackberry, baking spices, vanilla, toasted oak lay the foundation of a more complex palate. Spicy tannins lead to a long finish. This Malbec cries out for rib eye straight from the grill.
Trumpeter, Syrah-Malbec, Mendoza, Argentina, 2012 is deep purple in the glass. The nose is filled with dark red fruits with spicy notes and black pepper. The palate is very fruit forward with ripe red fruit with hints of baking spices with tangy acid and smooth tannins leading to a long finish. Enjoy with barbequed pork of beef ribs with a hint of spice.
Trumpeter, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mendoza, Argentina, 2012, is deep purple in color. The fruit forward aromas are filled with blackberry and boysenberry with slate and fresh asphalt in the background. The palate is filled with tart black cherry, black berry and slight vanilla and toasted oak and some baking spices. This wine calls for a big steak fresh off of the grill. Pair it with some grilled portabellas to match the earthiness flavors in the wine.
