Warlock is the 1959 western starring Anthony Quinn. The town of Warlock hire two gunfighters. Clay Blaisedell and Tom Morgan, despite their misgivings. They are able to deal with the crooks, but the townsfolk still don’t trust them, since they work outside the law. The outlaws try to go straight. Unfortunately the events bring out Tom’s hidden resentments against Clay. They end up clashing with the town that they were supposed to protect. What will happen to Warlock now?
It’s a decent flick that feels a lot like a horse opera. Star Trek fans will get a big kick out of seeing Deforest Kelley in a supporting role. While we do get to see a lot of action as the duo clean up the town, but just as much time is devoted to the personal conflicts of the characters. While it’s okay, there’s nothing really memorable in the movie. Although, it does attempt to show what would really happen in a western. Honolulu western fans may like it, but everyone else should rent it first.
