Armored Car Robbery is the 1950 film noir movie. Dave Purvis hatches a plan to rob an armored car and hires some men to do the job. What he doesn’t know is that one of the men, Benny, is doing this to win back the love of his wife Yvonne, whom Dave is having an affair with. Although the robbery is difficult, they are able to steal the money. Lt. Jim Cordell takes the case after his partner is killed. However, the gang gets paranoid and starts betraying each other. Purvis gets away and decides to flee with Yvonne. Can the police get them in time?
It’s a decent film, if not very original. What helps to spice things up is the fact that the leader is sleeping with the wife of one of the members. Not surprisingly, since this is a noir film, everyone quickly betrays each other. Although Benny should have found out about the affair and confronted Purvis. Still, the movie is okay, despite the wasted potential. Honolulu film noir fans should at least rent it.
