If you haven’t been to the salon at South Point lately, you haven’t been to Costa Del Sur Spa & Salon.
The luxurious off-Strip house of beauty recently underwent $525,000 in renovations and debuted a classy new look late last year. Now featuring five pedicure stations, five hair stations (with personal sinks at each one), three manicure stations and a new makeup station accompanied by a lavish state-of-the-art color bar, the upgrades complement the spa and salon’s new treatment menu, which was unveiled last October. Among the many new must-try services is the signature Orange Blossom Pedicure ($100), a heavenly treatment for your feet that uses products from Pure Fiji and features the refreshing scent of orange blossoms.
The 50-minute service begins with a relaxing foot soak in a warm bath featuring Pure Fiji’s Orange Blossom Coconut Milk Bath Soak, which uses a blend of exotic nut oils to rejuvenate, nourish and hydrate dry skin. Following the usual cuticle maintenance (trimming, shaping, etc.), a cooling alpha hydroxy acid masque is painted onto your feet and calves to penetrate the dermal layers and loosen dead skin cells. Although it tingles a little, it’s nothing to be alarmed about.
After the masque is removed, some of Pure Fiji’s moisturizing Orange Blossom Coconut Sugar Rub is applied to gently buff away aging skin cells, unclog pores and polish skin to a natural glow. Since the exfoliant is made with fresh sugar cane crystals and a blend of cold-pressed virgin coconut oil, it’s not as abrasive as some other scrubs can be, so guests can truly relax during the service. Finally, before the polish application (using a color you chose from the salon’s extensive selection before sitting down for the service), a soothing lower leg massage is performed using a botanical refining balm and hot stones to relax leg muscles while toning and hydrating the skin. By the time the service is complete, your tired tootsies will be left soft, smooth and looking great!
To further enhance one’s pedicure experience, guests will be offered a selection of complimentary beverages before being seated in the soothing massage chair (juice, water…even wine), as well as a warm neck wrap to help them fully relax. These small details truly leave a lasting impression, as they help make guests feel welcome and comfortable during their visit and not like they’re being rushed so the salon can accommodate another appointment.
The Orange Blossom Pedicure joins several other Pure Fiji services on Costa Del Sur’s recently revamped menu, including a similar 45-minute Orange Blossom Manicure ($40) and the lavish 120-minute Orange Blossom Couples Retreat ($495). Perfect for Valentine’s Day, the Orange Blossom Couples Retreat includes an indulgent bath for two in rich coconut milk infused with orange blossom to ease stress and sore muscles while softening skin, followed by a warm body wrap and skin buff. Then, a hand and foot treatment is performed using a rich body butter to ease away the cares of the day. The grand finale is a Fijian scalp treatment using warmed nourishing exotic oils and a rejuvenating back, neck and shoulders massage, sure to alleviate any painful muscle kinks and renew the mind. Valentines who book the Orange Blossom Couples Retreat will also receive access to the spa’s luxurious couple’s area, which includes a private Jacuzzi, steam sauna and relaxation lounge.
Located inside the South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa, the salon at Costa Del Sur Spa & Salon is open daily from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Guests who book $50 worth of services or more at the salon will receive access to the spa’s relaxing facilities (open from 6 a.m.-8 p.m.), which include private men’s and women’s Jacuzzis, steam rooms, saunas, cascading waterfall showers and oversized cold plunge pools. Nevada locals receive a 20 percent discount on all spa and salon services throughout the month of February with valid ID.
