Coming to theaters through IFC Films on July 11 and succeeding at festivals across the globe like Berlin and SXSW, it’s time to get reacquainted with the chronicling genius of Richard Linklater in ‘Boyhood.’ Now fully engaged in the love affair that is Jesse and Celine in his real time unfolding ‘Before’ trilogy, 'Sunrise' to 'Midnight,' we’re tickled again to learn of his latest raved-about work. Spanning here over a decade in real and cinema time, ‘Boyhood’ follows Mason (Ellar Coltrane) from childhood to adolescence, five to eighteen years old, boy to man. In this testament to growing up and family bonds in all of its challenges and joys, it’s sure one to witness. Also starring Patricia Arquette and long-time pal Ethan Hawke as Mason’s parents and Linklater’s daughter Lorelei Linklater as Samantha, this film peaks curiosity around an entirely new story from this praised screenwriter/ director.
