British Secret Agent 007 James Bond (Pierce Brosnan) is at a Russian Bazaar doing some shopping. Now this is no ordinary Bazaar this place has a major contingent of arms dealers and arms. M (Judi Dench) and other high ranking officials are watching from an undisclosed bunker. M orders the place bombed not knowing that Bond is there until the last moment. Bond radios back to M that a plane is carrying two nuclear missiles and will destroy everything for miles. Bond Jumps into the plane and escapes with the bombs and plane. In another area of the world a British frigate has gone off course and is believed to be in Chinese waters. A strange boat approaches and sinks the British ship. It wasn't the Chinese that sank the ship though.
Back in London, Bond is called back to duty early and is asked to investigate Elliot Carver (Jonathan Pryce) a media mogul. London wants to know what his involvement is with all this South China Sea debacle.
Bond heads to Germany to attend the opening of one of Carvers affiliates. While there he meets Wai Lin (Michelle Yeoh) a Chinese news reporter. The two actually are working toward the same goal but won't realize it for awhile. Bond does some snooping around when he is at Carvers big event. Bond finds a device that could have been used to send the British vessel off course. Bond heads back to his room where he finds Paris Carver (Teri Hatcher) dead and in a little while he sees that he is possibly being framed for her murder. You see Paris is Carvers wife and an ex-Bond girlfriend.
Bond is then sent to the South China Sea area and meets with CIA agent Jack Wade (Joe Don Baker). They believe they have found where the ship went down and when Bond does find the ship he finds Wai Lin already there.
Do the two finally get Carver for what he is trying to do. Well you must watch the end of the movie. Brosnan's second Bond movie is just as good as his first. Director Roger Spottiswoode does an excellent job with this Bond adventure and it is worth watching till the end. Enjoy.
