Yes, the Toadies' "Rubberneck" just turned 20. This is the portion of the conversation where I cop to how old that makes me feel (note: very). But the band, in celebration of this anniversary, has embarked on a nationwide tour in support of their landmark release.

That included a stop at House of Blues Houston on Friday night, a show in which the band proceeded to start with "Rubberneck" and rip through a rousing set that included hits like "Possum Kingdom," "Tyler," and "I Come From the Water." The catch-22 lied in the band leading with and playing the release in its entirety, which left another 30 minutes or so to feel.

And while the band nobly attempted to play from its "No Deliverance" album, coupled with a couple of covers, those exiting the venue had spoken - they were there to hear the hits.

That said, it was a great show, and I'm very much looking forward to the "Rubberneck" 25th anniversary tour. I'm sure I'll feel even older when it rolls through town.
