Title change causes confusion

WWE has made some decisions in the past that have puzzled many of their fans but not so much as last Friday night on Smackdown. Alberto Del Rio took on Big Show for the Heavy Weight title and was surprisingly victorious. This was a shocking action by the WWE due to the second biggest pay per view being only a week away. The Royal Rumble is a ppv that marks the start of the Road to WrestleMania and the championships are more than important during this time.

At the Rumble we usually see a few Championship matches and at times they do change hands at this crucial point in the lives of WWE fans worldwide. Then the main event of the pay per view is of course the 30 Man Royal Rumble to determine who receives the main event at WrestleMania for the title of his choice. By the time this comes along we have retaining champions and possibly some new ones available for choice. In all the time that I have been watching the WWE, never have I seen one of the main titles change hands a week prior to a ppv this meaningful.

The WWE Universe has been shocked with this development and many are making guesses as to why this happened. Is Big Show injured? Does it have something to do with the Wellness Program? Why would they take the title away from him so soon? These and other questions have been asked on WWE fan boards and websites all over the internet.

To answer their questions I would only say that he is mostly likely not injured due to the fact that he is facing Del Rio at The Royal Rumble. The Wellness Program is just a bogus idea and not even possible with Show. The fact that Big Show is going to be facing Del Rio at the Rumble anyways has confused me beyond the point of finding a reasonable answer. My guess is that they just wanted to place the fans in a state of shock and awe. Well, World Wrestling Entertainment you have done it again.
